Star Trek Minimates - Khan

Here we have a Minimate version of Khan, from the episode "Space Seed". The events in the episode would come back to haunt Kirk in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan.

Packaging

Two different types of packaging were used in the Star Trek Minimates line. Some figures were carded, and some came in the round plastic tube packaging. This Khan came in a tube, but the tube is in storage somewhere so sadly there's no pic of the packaging. But hey, you know what the tube packaging looks like by now, eh?

Khan

Khan is a genetically modified "superman", able to perform feats of strength, stamina and intellect far beyond normal humans. Played by Ricardo Montalban, this is quite an accurate representation of his look from the episode. The eyes are expressive, although the crinkles on the mouth are slightly overdone. Khan has a bun-style hairdo which forms his hairpiece.

Khan has a red outfit which has few details, although that means it's close to the source material, and also fits in with the rest of the sparsely detailed Star Trek Minimate line. He has a short skirt piece to give the impression of a longer tunic.

Like the Gorn, this figure has a torso peg which is far shorter than other 3" Minimates, and that means he falls apart at the middle a lot, because the skirt piece doesn't allow the peg to grip the torso block very well.

I don't think Khan came with any accessories, although I'm not 100% sure on that.

Overall, Khan is a bit staid, a bit boring. The other baddies in this line are much more visually appealing and different. Having said that, a Minimate version of the older Khan from The Wrath of Khan would have been a fantastic choice.
